Your privacy is critical to us. This policy explains how Confur Inc. ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your data when you use Slablet.

1. What We Collect

  • Account Data: Your email address and authentication details (via eith Google, Apple or GitHub).
  • Your Slabs: The daily logs, notes, and text you enter into the application.
  • Usage Data: Anonymous metrics on how you use the app (to help us improve).
  • Payment Data: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

2. AI & Data Processing

Slablet uses artificial intelligence services provided by OpenAI and Anthropic to provide summaries, chat features, and semantic search functionality.

  • When you use the AI chat feature (Recall AI), your prompt and any slab data necessary to generate a response are sent to Anthropic.
  • When subscribed to "Pro", your slab data is sent to Anthropic to generate summaries either nightly or on demand (when you access a slab without a summary).
  • When you add to a slab the slab content is sent to OpenAI to generate an embedding used for semantic search.
  • We do not use your data to train public AI models.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Google User Data (Calendar & Tasks)

If you choose to enable calendar and task sync (a "Pro" feature), Slablet will request read and write access to your Google calendar.

  • How we use it: We use this data solely to help you keep track of your tasks and schedule, and update you in Slablet (via read access) when you have completed an item.
  • Limited Use: Slablet's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry standard best practices provided by our hosting and data storage partners.

5. Data Residency & International Transfers

Slablet is operated by Confur Inc., a Canadian company. However, to provide our services, your data may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

  • Database: Your slabs and account data are stored on servers located in the United States (western region) via Supabase.
  • AI Processing: Data sent to OpenAI and Anthropic may be processed in the United States.
  • Payments: Payment processing by Stripe may involve data transfer to the United States.
  • Hosting: Our application is hosted on Vercel, which operates globally.

By using Slablet, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA.

6. Your Rights

You own your data. You have the right to:

  • Terminate your account at any time.
  • Request your data be deleted off of Slablet's servers.
